How to register a Serbian sole proprietorship from abroad
A step-by-step guide to the documents, business-name choices, activity code and registration process for foreign entrepreneurs.
Start with the right business structure
A preduzetnik (PR) is a Serbian sole proprietorship registered in one person's name. It is different from a limited liability company and is not a partnership structure. For people who want an individual Serbian business, it can be a practical starting point.
Choose two business names
Prepare a preferred business name and a second alternative. Your provider can handle the formal structure of the legal PR name and confirm availability during the process, so you do not need to invent the full legal title yourself.
Prepare your passport and basic details
The documents requested by SerbiaCompany at the company-formation stage are a clear passport identity page, your chosen main business activity, an email address and a telephone number. Additional documents for other services, such as a work visa CV, are not part of this PR application.
Understand the timeline and cost
Our €200 PR registration package is split into €50 upfront and €150 after registration and delivery of the APR documents. It includes the official formation costs and our registered address for the first 12 months. The standard registration process takes approximately five business days.
Receive and verify your registration
Once the APR document is issued, you can verify the company in the official APR register at apr.gov.rs. Keep the registration decision with your business records and use the exact registered details when applying for other business services.
Information is provided as a general guide. Your actual requirements depend on the selected service and current procedures.
